Comments:Last year(2010)we, along with the same two friends visited Morthoe Seafood and on both occaisions had the shellfish platters. WOW what an experiance ! No fancy dressings just finest seafood tasting as fresh as the sea itself. Comments:We bought a dressed crab and a lobster for diner and we had the most wonderful meal! Your seafood is really fantastic and we felt so sorry that it was a last chance to by something from the shop before it closed for end of season! Will be back for more one day....!

Comments:What can I say! Absolutely delicious! Bought Whelks from the van at Wollacombe Sands and then drove to Morthoe to track you down! Wow! Bought more whelks and also some Bass with lemon and coriander to take home. If you wern't 2 1/2 hours away, I'd be back for more! Baked the foil parcel in the oven and served it with new potatoes and green beans - mmmm - yum!! Thankyou! Oh, and the children loved the shell shack too xx

Comments:We had a wonderful lunchtime meal on our recent visit to North Devon, following a recommendation by friends. We couldn't have been made to feel more welcome and relaxed and thoroughly enjoyed it. We returned with visiting friends later in the week to try more dishes and had another excellent meal. The seafood is out of this world and the scrumpy certainly helps it to slip down well! Thank you for the lovely food and atmosphere you create. We are already planning a visit next year!

Comments:I have used you guys for years and years, including when I moved down to Devon a few years back. The best seafood around and such a brilliant idea with the foil wrapped fish to use on the bbq! I can still taste the lobster now! Comments:Thank you for a great four hour lunch! After walking round the back with slight apprehension the day turned into a lot of fun. Kath was chalking up 'service with a smile' and turned round beaming as we entered the garden; enough to brighten up anyone's day. We experienced; exemplary service, the best Devon Crab soup possible, one very large and more than delightful perfectly cooked lobster surrounded by a pleasing and plentiful variety of salad, treacle tart with custard AND clotted cream and ?. ? because two bottles of house white has slightly tainted the memory. We will always remember the German chap who looked a little too conservative and sceptical and ordered sardines and 'tap water', he looked fairly green with envy when he saw our feast!....many thanks for a great lunch and for showing us the lobster tanks. The shellwork collection was also well worth viewing. Ben and Katrina

Comments:We visited last week and drive 30 miles just to eat there! It was well worth the drive but the seafood platter had us beaten, we just couldn't eat it all! The food was gorgeous, especially the home made pudding and the service was great. Kath made us feel really at ease about tackling the lobster as it was the first time we had tried it. I would recommend it to anyone who is going down that way, it is a unique experience to eat in someone's front room!!! The prices are really reasonable, food is great and the staff are really friendly and welcoming...

Comments:We have had many lovely dinners and evening meals with you and am returning back to Morthole in August and would like again to visit you for a meal. We use to stay at the Crows nest but since they sold up have stayed in Great Bickington... so we do intend to visit you again. As a frequent visitor to shellfish restaurants i found this one refreshingly informal and the seafood was the freshest i have ever tasted, particularly the lobster. I can not recommend this place highly enough to you. Next time i am in the north devon area this restaurant is definately on my to do list!

Comments:we came to your fantastic restaurant/home on july 19th 2006 after a recommendation from the wood craftsman Mike Taffinder from north buckland. he told us that for first class seafood to come to you! and we were certainly not disappointed and how proud i am to be able to say to all my foodie friends that i have at last eaten on one of the restaurants that fine food critics have reviewed! you were so obliging and made us feel very welcome. i have never tackled most of the delicious seafood our platter had on it before but the relaxed surroundings and jovial company of other diners made me feel that i would not make a fool of myself trying to navigate my way thru all those fishy delights! A wonderful evening and i plan to tell everyone i can about you!
